Laurece West

Laurece grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. She spent 7th - 11th grade in Norwich, NY living with her maternal grandparents the first three years. She hung out with her grandmother Audrey Coon, a prolific multi-media artist in her basement studio. Picasso Tigerfish describes both aspects of Picasso's life and creating along side her grandmother. Laurece loves going to art galleries - in NC, NYC, Chicago, DC, Paris, and wherever she travels. Laurece also loves going to great concerts. Hearing and seeing artistic genius is inspiring.

Laurece plays electric bass, piano/keyboard, and flute. For a dozen bands she's been a band member and leader of a few. She loves gigs and especially recording. 

Laurece West is a High Energy artist. Her music uplifts, inspires, and makes her listeners feel loved and understood. Laurece's lyrics usually are about overcoming challenges. 

Laurece spent many years recovering from a very dysfunctional childhood. Her music soothes the wounded heart and brings spirit to the hopeless while getting them up on their feet to dance, move, shake, emote, scream, and laugh.

Laurece (rhymes with Maurice) is a multi-genre songwriter who is constantly evolving as an artist. She’s released blues-rock, jazzy folk, and pop songs. Upcoming are songs written during the pandemic with Garage Band loops and samples on her iPad.

Due to a studio fire her engineer thought he’d lost songs recorded after "Essence of Love," but they resurfaced. Those songs are also in the queue.

Laurece enjoyed meat yet feels better eating vegan. Laurece trains and races as a competitive swimmer.
