Laurece West

Laurece is a multi-genre songwriter, producer, multi-instumentalist, and voice coach.

She grew up in Madison, WI and Norwich, NY. Laurece lived in NYC 20 years, and now lives in Durham, NC.

She's written and performed with pop, blues, blues-rock, and her original folk-jazz bands on electric bass, keys, and vocals. With flute, Laurece improvised at events and recorded on Bobbi Bernstein's album. Incredible musicians have graced Laurece's gigs and recordings.

Laurece has been in a songwriting group for several years, with a new song due every two weeks, unless they are on vacation or hiatus. The focus has birthed several good songs.

2026 releases are from songs written during the pandemic on Laurece’s iPad with Garage band by programming loops. Also songs recorded with her band in 2014, thought lost in a studio fire but rediscovered by Laurece’s engineer Jerry Kee in September 2025!

These songs are making up three or four separate albums, to create sonically pleasing listening.

Laurece loves performing and energizing her audiences to sing rhythms and melodic harmonies.

Laurece is also a vegan and competitive swimmer. She lives near Eno River State Park with her husband Terry McCarthy and 2 cats from feral parents. Laurece loves Durham and her creative, business, and spiritual communities of friends.
